Recently found out a bunch more info about my Pacellis. My Pacellis were probably all born in San
Valentine, Torio,
Salerno and were in
Brooklyn by 1900 (though arrived 3 - 10 years earlier). Francesco (Frank) b. about 1845 d. 1920 & Giacoma (Jennie) b. 1853 d. 1922 & their children
Pasquale (pretty sure he also went by Walter) b. about 1870 d.?, Guiseppe (
Angelo) b. about 1881 d. 1950s, Grazia (
Gracie) b. 1887, d. ?. Francesco's parents were
Francesco Pacelli and Mary
Crispi. Giacoma's parents were Joseph
Crispi and Giacoma
Terra (I have no other info on their parents, other than that they were born in Italy and were probably also from
Salerno). Both
Francesco and Giacoma are buried in St. John's Cemetery in Middle Village, Queens.
Most of them were living in
Brooklyn on
Summit St. in 1900,
Harrison St. in 1904/05, St. Edwards in 1910, and N. Portland Avenue 1915, 1920, 1925, & 1930. Joseph (
Angelo) may have been living and working on
Clarkson Ave (
Brooklyn State Hospital) in the 1940s. Oddly - his second wife Violet (Viola) died at
Pilgrim State Hospital in 1969 and had been at Creedmoor in 1930. They are both buried in St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale,
LI. Pasquale (Walter) married
Winnie and lived on Myrtle
Ave. in 1900 and 1910. Winnie's maiden name may have been
Sinclair or St. Clair. Both Joseph (
Angelo) and
Pasquale (Walter) were barbers, and at least some of the time worked at a barbershop on Myrtle Avenue. We're not sure what happened to Grazia (
Gracie) but know that she married Guiseppe
Amadio January of 1904, and was living with the Pacellis on
Harrison St. in 1905. She married Guiseppe
Amadio b. about 1875 in
Rome, Italy (parents were Eugenio
Amadio and Rosa Corradino) and had one child together, Eugene
Amadio in 1905. We suspect Guiseppe may have returned to Italy and had other children there, but we're not sure.
Other than Grazia's one child, we are unaware if
Pasquale (Walter) &
Winnie or Joseph (
Angelo) & either Adi (first wife) or Violet (Viola) had any children. We're also not sure of any connection to Pacellis living in the U.S., but know there are some originally from
Salerno. Any connections with my Pacellis?
