hello worldwide passfields! We are a family living near Colchester, Essex, England who would welcome hearing from any passfields who emigrated abroad from England. My husband's family are originally from Essex and worked in farming. If you have any interesting passfield stories, please let us know.

Hi there fellow Passfield,

My sister and I have been tracing our family history and have got as far as:-

William Passfield born abt. 1787
married Sarah Ward at St Mary's Church Newington, London, and lived in this area of London. But we haven't so far been able to get any further.

Any help would be most welcome!

I'm afraid I am not into farming or living in a far flung country, but here in Essex like yourselves.
I was born in South London and the family roots go back some four generations to my g.g.grandfather William Passfield, who was born abt.1787. So far we have not been able to trace back any further. He married Sarah Ward at St. Mary's Church, Newington,London on 3rd April 1809.
We think that eventually if we are lucky that we will find that our roots do indeed come back to Esseex. Any information would be most welcome and will willingly supply you with a list of our known relatives.

Regards John.

Thanks for your reply P.W. Passfield.
Since we only know that our g.g.grandfather William Pasfield, (spelling changed the following generation!) was married at St. Marys, Newington, London on April 3rd 1809. We do not know where he was born or previously lived. We have not discovered so far a relative who has lived for over a hundred years so far. If we can share any further information post another notice to this effect, and I will let you know my e-mail address.
Regards, John Passfield
