Alley and am hoping you are still reading these. Anyway, I descend from John M. Patton who married Grisselle/Grizzell
Moyers of
Jefferson County,
Tennessee. They evidently had a daughter named Elizabeth
Patton who married Jonathan S. Ward. Their marriage record reflects that they were married in
Jefferson County,
Tennessee in 1834. Elizabeth was born between 1817-1818. My confusion comes in on various census records. Three out of four of these records shows Elizabeth has having been born in
Indiana and one reflects her as having been born in
Ohio. I find it very hard to believe she was born in
Indiana as their daughter was Grace J. Ward (my great, great grandmother). She is shown at times as Guissa or Grissy and all of their children appear to have been born in
Jefferson County,
Tennessee. Does anyone know if John M. Patton could have gone to
Indiana at any given time? Or do I simply have the wrong John M. Patton? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated! My email is
