I am trying to locate the parents and family of Jonathan Paine born 1690 in Hunterdon, New Jersey. Most family trees show his parents as John Pain and Abagail Curtis, but this cannot be correct. Jonathan was born in 1690 and John and Abagail were married in 1699. Also, it is documented that John and Abagail had only one child after their short marriage and then John died. Furthermore, John is said to have been born around 1683 which would mean he fathered Jonathan at the age of seven!!!
So who could be Jonathan's parents? What other Paine families in Hunterdon, New Jersey?
As for Jonathan Paine and Susannah HORSEMAN's children, I have Jonathan, Sanuel and Elizabeth Payne (they changed the spelling from Paine to Payne).
