WEST LIBERTY, Iowa - Esther Reynolds, 96, died Saturday, September 13, 2008, at the Simpson Memorial Home Assisted Living in West LIBERTY.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West LIBERTY. Burial will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in West LIBERTY.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice.

Mrs. Reynolds was born March 1, 1912, in rural Linn County near Marion, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Bertha Secrist Beach.

She graduated from Marion High School in 1930.

She married Carl Reynolds on January 20, 1943, near Marion. They farmed the early years of married life and moved to West LIBERTY in 1955 so Carl could start work at the new Walnut Grove 4X4 Plant. Carl died in 1974.

Esther worked as a nurse’s aide at Hawker Nursing Home several years before retiring in 1974.

She is survived by son, Gary Reynolds and wife, Chris, of Frytown; grandchildren, Matt Reynolds and wife, Gina, of Cedar Rapids and Amanda Reynolds of Naperville, Illinois; great-granddaughter, Kyra, and great-grandson, Jacob, both of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and infant daughter.

MUSCATINE, Iowa -Clara 'Rosie' Rosetta Reynolds, 80, of Muscatine, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2008, at the Muscatine Care Center.

Casketbearers will be Steve Reynolds, Aaron Reynolds, Tommy Terrill, Larry Eggers, Angie Reynolds and Michelle Wheeler.

Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home for the Muscatine Care Center and Amenity Hospice.

Mrs. Reynolds was born on June 26, 1927, in Muscatine, the daughter of George W. and Martha P. (Kallenberger) Terrill. On Nov. 3, 1945, she married Clyde O. Reynolds in Muscatine.

She and her husband farmed on the Muscatine Island. She enjoyed camping, fishing, playing piano and organ music and playing cards.

She will be deeply missed by her two sons, Jim 'JR' (Linda) Reynolds of Muscatine and Tony Reynolds of Monroe, Wash.; five grandchildren, Steve (Tracy) Reynolds, Angie Reynolds, Lori (Trave) Toborg, Aaron (Alison) and Julie Reynolds; six great-grandchildren, Tia Reynolds, Steve Reynolds, Andrew Reynolds, Gracie Reynolds, Dawson Toborg, and Brody Toborg; her brother, Charlie (Barb) Terrill of Muscatine; and one sister, Shirley (Robert) Hopkins, also of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Evelyn, Lila and June; and two brothers, George and Jack.

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Lorie Reynolds, 48, of Muscatine, died on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the Unity Hospital in Muscatine.

Mrs. Reynolds was born on May 23, 1959, in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Arthur and Louise Fifield Reynolds. She was married to Larry R. Johnson for 19 years, together they had six children and 13 grandchildren. She enjoyed her granchildren, music, and outdoor cookouts.

She will be deeply missed by her seven children, Eric Johnson and his wife, Amber of Columbus Junction, Angela Garrison and her husband, Mike of Muscatine, Sarah Brown and her husband, Joseph of Wapello, Andrew Johnson and his wife, Marjorie of Conesville, Jessica Johnson of Muscatine, Kimberly Reinier and her husband, Gary of Wapello, and Fransico Olquin of Columbus Junction; 13 grandchildren, Isabella Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Danica Johnson, Victoria Garrison, Luis Garrison, Auston Garrison, Rebecca Garrison, Tyler Garrison, Jadelynn Johnson Brown, Cloe Johnson, Kyndra Johnson, Addyson Johnson Enriquez, and Jesse Reinier; four sisters, Kathy Norman and her husband, Kent of Mo., Kelli Nash and her husband, Glen of New Boston, Ill., and Wendy Reynolds of Buffalo; three brothers, Ted Reynolds and his wife, Kim of Grandview, Arthur Reynolds and his wife, Lenae of Ala., and Richard Reynolds of Muscatine.

Carol was born on December 26, 1938, in Iowa City, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Barton Evans. She married Donald Lyle Reynolds in 1960, in Muscatine.

Carol at one time worked for Heinz. She also worked at the Lutheran Homes, Muscatine Care Center, and We Care where she cared for the elderly.

She was a life member of the Glad Tidings Church. Carol loved nature, animals and taking care of lost souls.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Reynolds and wife, Gail, of Fort Worth, Texas, Brad Reynolds of Muscatine, and Brian Reynolds and girlfriend, Autumn, of Muscatine; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Evans of Omaha, Nebraska, and Frank Evans of Nichols; and three sisters, Iris Sullivan of Muscatine, Shirley Cook of Muscatine, and Judy Cooley of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Johnathan and several siblings.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2007, at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser Street, Muscatine, Iowa. Dr. Hal Green of the Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate the service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Arthur was born on March 16, 1928, in Muscatine, the son of Albert and Jenny Holiday Reynolds. He married Louise Lorriane Fifield in Muscatine. They later divorced. He later married Mary Brown in 1986. She preceded him in death in 2007.

He served in the Korean Conflict.

Arthur enjoyed fishing, hunting and growing flowers. He was a member of Eagles, VFW and DVFW.

Survivors include four sons; five daughters; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Gary Reynolds, two daughters, Jannet Reyolds and Jeanne Bass, five brothers, and two sisters.

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Mary Reynolds, 62, of Muscatine, died Monday, June 25, 2007, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine.

Mary Fern Brown was born on March 16, 1945 in Iowa City, the daughter of Lyle Emery and Susan Josephine (Doty) Brown. She was united in marriage to Arthur Reynolds. She worked as a caregiver for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She will be deeply missed by several step-children and several step-grandchildren; one brother, David E. (Mary Ann) of Muscatine; two sisters, Sandra L. (Larry) of Haines City, Fla., and Sharon K. Chapman of Davenport; and one sister-in-law, June (Lester) Chandler of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harold E. Brown.

He worked at Kent Feeds for 31 and half years before retiring.

He was a member of the Walnut Park Baptist Church and the American Legion.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his three sons, David Reynolds of Columbus Junction, Don Reynolds of Muscatine and Ronald Reynolds of Glenwood; his five daughters, Barbara Pluim and husband, Arnold of Markesan, Wis., Debra Van Auken of Columbus Junction, Lisa Husmann and husband, Kolin of Ainsworth, Theresa Fulton and husband, Todd of Columbus Junction and Diana Heintz of Columbus Junction; one brother, Arthur Reynolds of Columbus Junction; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Reynolds was born February 17, 1927, in Muscatine, the son of Robert M. and Ruth Gibbs Reynolds. He married Roma F. Connor on August 19, 1950 in Des Moines.

He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge #388, VFW Post 1565, and the American Legion Post 27.

He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Germany.

He worked for Manjoine Distributing and then Scott Distributing. He later drove the van for Lutheran Homes.

He loved hunting, fishing and his grandchildren. He was an avid Chicago Cub and Chicago Bear fan.

Survivors include his wife, Roma Reynolds of Muscatine; three sons, Rodney J. Reynolds and his wife, Connie, of Muscatine, David W. Reynolds and his wife, Jean, of Kent, Washington and Harley D. Reynolds and his wife, Jill, of Muscatine; two daughters, Sheila Monahan and her husband, Ronald, of Muscatine, and Shelley Wolfe and her husband, Roger, of Green Bay, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edna Riggs of Muscatine and Pauline Maurer and her husband, Leo, of Wilton.

Mrs. Reynolds was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Muscatine, the daughter of Oscar Pearl and Evelyn Elizabeth Carmen Fifield. She married Arthur Gene Reynolds Sr. in 1945.

She was a custodian for Stanley Consultants, retiring in 1990 and was a nurse's aide for many years at the former Muscatine General Hospital.

She loved to read and crochet.

Mr. Reynolds was born Oct. 21, 1906, in Drury Township, Ill., the son of Ed 'Casey' and Lucy Watson Reynolds. He married Erma L. Trible Wilson Sept. 13, 1959, in Muscatine.

He served his country during World War II from August 1942 until November 1945. He was involved in four major battles, the Ardennes, Northern France, Rhineland and the Battle of the Bulge. He received four Bronze Stars during his time of service.

He was a lifelong resident of the Muscatine area and served as assistant pastor of the Glad Tidings Church since 1972 until retirement. He was a great reader, an avid history buff and enjoyed sports of any type, especially baseball.

He will be dearly missed by his five step-daughters, Janet Askam of Muscatine, Wilma Heuer and her husband, Kenneth, of Muscatine, Dolores Stover and her husband, Archie, of Durant, Carlene Morrison and her husband, Charles, of Letts, and Anna Mae Schmelzer and her husband, Howard, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one sister, Monna Smith of Muscatine; 17 step-grandchildren, 44 step great-grandchildren and 10 step great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one sister, and two brothers.

Mrs. Reynolds was born Feb. 10, 1950, in Muscatine, the daughter of Bruce and Helen Estabrook Herlein. She graduated from Louisa-Muscatine High School.

She was a member of Eagles and enjoyed babysitting and making birthday cakes and wedding cakes. Her greatest joy was getting together with family. She was the assistant manager at Econofoods.

She is survived by three children, Lorinda Reynolds and her fiancee, Trave Toborg, Aaron Reynolds and his wife, Alison, and Julie Reynolds all of Muscatine; a grandson, Andrew Reynolds; her father, Bruce Herlein; two brothers, Larry Herlein and his wife, Judy, and Bill Herlein and his wife, Theresa, and her ex-husband, Anthony Reynolds of Monroe, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her mother in 1991.

David was born on September 25, 1957, in Muscatine, the son of Cecil R. and Donna Joyce Brady Reynolds. He married Elizabeth McBride, and they later divorced.

He was a maintenance worker at the Riverside Casino. He also had worked on oil rigs in Wyoming and at the Columbus Lumber Yard and with Rueckert and Sons.

He enjoyed Coffee Club in the mornings, working on race cars, going to the races and bowling for many years.

He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Sandra Reynolds of Columbus Junction; his girlfriend, Sally Wheeler of Columbus City; his mother, Donna Joyce McAuly of Fredonia; his sisters, Barbara Plum and her husband, Bum, of Wisconsin, Debbie Van Auken of Muscatine, Lisa Reynolds of Columbus Junction, Theresa Fulton and her husband, Todd, of Columbus Junction and Diane Holmes and her husband, Mike, of Muscatine; his brother, Donnie Reynolds of Muscatine; and his twin brother, Ronnie Reynolds of Glenwood.

He was preceded in death by his father.
