I am related to that line. R.G. Reynolds is Robert Gallaher Reynolds, born in Pennsyslvania. At some point in the 1850's or 1860's they moved to Illinois. His brother, father and sisters ended up there also.
My Great Grandmother Harriet Reynolds was his sister, she was married at Chester Illinois in 1870.
I would love to see the document.
Matt Conlon

Looking for informatin on Stephen Marion Reynolds b. 1843 in Little Rock, AR. He married Louisa Jane Evans b. 1847. The story I have been told is that he broke off with his family when they did not approve of his marriage. He married and moved from AR to TX where he died in 1908. Father was Judge Reynolds (not sure if it is a nickname) and mother is Ann. He had 4 children: Edward M., Ida Emily (married Albert McKay), Lula Mae (my great grandmother who married John Wade Eller), & Noah.

I have hit a lot of dead ends and would love some information.

Re: James Peter Reynolds

You don't say what else you know about the family, so I'll go over what I can find and see what clues we can get for James. Forgive me if you already know some or all of this, perhaps someone else will find it useful.

I see that the Reynolds/Whiteaker marriage took place in Petersburg, Crawford, Wisconsin. Amanda then married second husband Edwin/Edward P. Russell 4 Oct 1903 in Lynxville. Edwin's third marriage, previously married to Hannah Smith and to Mary Eliza Sutton.

1910 census has the Russell family in Seneca, including step-daughter Bessie Reynolds born about 1901 in Wisconsin. This suggests that we might find James Reynolds somewhere in 1900. Amanda born about 1882.

1920 has Bessie still living with the Russell family, but now married to Glenden Copus. (Tracing Bessie on the chance her descendants would have info about James.)

1930, the Russells are in Rockton, Illinois; now with a granddaughter Evelin M. Copus. Evaline is also enumerated with her parents Glenn and Bessie on the previous page. Two other Copus children: Donald L. and Marie M.

1900 census shows an Amanda Whitaker age 19 in Scott, Crawford, Wisconsin. Looks like your Amanda back with her mother Eliza, Bessie not yet born. The census markings are a little unclear. Amanda is either married or widowed; number of years married shown as "X"; children shown as "0 0".

1880 census shows William and Eliza Whiteaker in Scott, Crawford, Wisconsin -- Amanda born later that year.

WWI Draft Reg has Glen Copus in Crawford, Wisconsin; born 2 Jun 1898.
SSDI has Glen Copus died Jan 1983 in Beloit, Rock, Wisconsin -- looks like Bessie and family moved back to Wisconsin sometime after 1930. Beloit city directory shows them there in 1936.
Various census records show Glen is son of George Royal Copus and Ruby Smith Copus.
Donald L. Copus appears to have died in Oregon, 2002, possible children still there.

Found one reference to a funeral for someone with grandparents Fred and Essie Fisk and Glenn and Bessie Copus. Seemed to be the Woods Funeral Home in Fairbank, Iowa. Parents perhaps William and Leona Fisk of Readlyn IA. No other info and the search hit no longer exists. Is Leona Fisk one of Bessie's daughters?

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any more direct info on James Peter Reynolds. Speculation is that he is the son of John and Elizabeth, seen in 1880 Kendall, Lafayette, Wisconsin. I could find nothing relating to him between 1896 and 1900.

Not sure how this would connect in, but there are postings claiming that Amanda Elizabeth Whiteaker of Crawford County WI had a son in 1895 named Lionel Ishimo Noggle. No sign of a Noggle/Whiteaker marriage.

She was born on 9/21/1923 and would have been 35 in 1958.

I was hesitant to share this with you, but, should you be from central Texas, she may lead you to the rest of her family. She was Nelda Mae Jones at the time of her death.

Possible Family Pictures of James P. Reynolds and Susannah Brasher of Fayette Co, TX
Can anyone identify the people in these photographs?

http://cid-39b1db14c948ff3a.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/Mi...

I THINK these are pictures of the Reynolds and or Fisher families that may have belonged to Elizabeth (Bettie) Reynolds Fisher (26 Jul 1860-24 Aug 1936). Her husband was Walter Daniel Fisher (son of Thomas Dance Fisher & Martha Elizabeth Blackwell). Her parents were James P. Reynolds and Susannah Brasher of Fayette County.

My cousin Lindell thought this was the picture album of my grandmother Minnie Virginia Fisher Haile. I do not recognize these as being "Haile" pictures.

I think picture 2 is PROBABLY the wife of Robert W. Reynolds, brother of Elizabeth (Bettie) Reynolds Fisher. His wife's name was "Annie G." I do not know her maiden name.

I think picture 4 is the brother of Elizabeth (Bettie) Reynolds Fisher....Robert W. Reynolds.

I think the 6th picture is probably the child of Robert W. and Annie Reynolds. Her name was Estelle. Could picture 8 be an older picture of the same child?

Picture 11 was taken in Tom Green County (San Angelo). This COULD be Flavius Joseph Reynolds, brother of Elizabeth (Bettie) Reynolds. It COULD be his son Edward Manton Reynolds.

Picture 19 is James Walter Haile, son of James Thomas Haile and Mary Beaver Hodges.

Please contact me if you can identify any of these people.

Pat Kinsey
pa-ha-kin@austin.rr.com
