Caguas Rosario

Hector. A few years ago, I learned that my
biological father is Antonio Rosario who was
born in Caguas. I know so very little about
him. (I am in Lexington, Kentucky.) He would be
about 55 - 60 years old now. He lived in the states
(Michigan) in the mid-to-late 50's. He supposedly
returned to Caguas before I was born in January 1959.
He never even knew that my mother was pregnant. My
mother married another man & I was raised to believe
that he was my father even though I always knew that
something wasn't right. Please e-mail me at lacole_1994@yahoo.com
if you can help me in any way. thanks.

Hi - my brother's name is Antonio Rosario, undoubtedly from the same family tree.
He was born in Patillas. But our family is from the Caguas, Cayey area. The name comes from
the Canary Islands. I wish I knew of your father's history. I can ask my brohter Tony (Antonio) who
now lives in Denver. I live in Las Vegas. Maybe he knows. My brother is 63. OUr father was
Emiliano Rosario Melendez, born in Cayey in 1906. I was born in 1948 in
San Lorenzo, P.R. By the way, my grandfather was Celestino Del Rosario. The name was in fact,
originally Del Rosario but in modern times we all dropped the Del. I have done my full tree, for the Munoz de Oneca
and the Sanchez de Cos. Both those families founded the town of San Lorenzo in 1814. The Munoz de Oneca came around 1790s
to Hato Grande from Cordova, and the Sanchez de Cos from Santander in northern Spain. The Rosarios date back to the 1700s in P.R.
The Munoz de Oneca is the same line as the governor of P.R. of the 1950s --
Don Luis Munoz Marin (look him up in history) - a prominent politician of P.R. and the founder of the Common Wealth status which P.R.
now has (good or bad) but that's history for you.

I'l try and see if anyone knows of your father.

Take care PRIMA!

Hola - I used to visit Sebastian in N.Y. in the 1960s with my father, Emiliano Rosario Melendez who was born in 1906 in Cayey.
Other brothers and sisters of my dad were: Pablo, Crispin, Nicomede, Julio, Juan, Pepe, MIguel, Maria, Daisy (who now lives in Chicago - just spoke to her today).
I'm sure you and I must be cousins. I'm trying to help Paula Dunn (see messages) find her father. I was born in San Lorenzo in 1948. Lived in The Bronx as a young teen and have live in Las Vegas since 1978.
If it's the same Sebastian, I used to visit him with my dad in the Bronx. I remember his wife and he had a daughter. The colon family is also related to my father. I met Sixto Colon (an old timer) way back in P.R. but I think
I saw him once or twice in N.Y. Does naything of this sound familiar? The other families related were Jimmy Carrion, whom we'd love to find.

Write back and keep good.

Tu primo, Hector. All Rosarios are related. They came from the Canary Islands and date back to 1700s in P.R.
My father who was born in 1906 knew a great deal. He passed away in 1978.

How are you? Just got through e-mailing Paula Dunn.
Her father was Antonio Rosario from Caguas. She recently found that out.
He left them back in Michigan in 1957, not knowing he had left a child behind.
Sad story. I'm trying to help Paula find her dad. Paula lives in Kentucky.
Have you communicated with her? I found her through this site.

You take care.
Tu primo, from Las Vegas Nevada
