Hello my name is JoAnne Rubasky,
I just found out that my great-grandfather Joseph Rubacky is the son of Josehus Rubaczky and Maria Matusoics. And my great-great-great-grandfather Josehus Rubaczky is the son of Andreas Rubaczky and Anna (Czeluch) and he was once married to Maria (Zajacz). I hope you can share what ever information you have on this family.

Hello Bryan, I can't belive that I found some new relatives and found my great-great-great-grandfather and grandmother. Maybe you can share little bit about yourself and your family. Do you have any old photos of our great-great-great-grandparents. Have you ever gone to Slovakia? That's all for now.

With the help of distant cousins a few years ago, what was then a new hobby really took off. My success has mostly the result of having been fortunate enough to find people willing to share information and learning how to research myself. This particular surname was taken from Zborov records that I got from Trish Kropiewnicki. You may find her throughout the message boards and is one of the most knowledgeable researchers I've come across.

I see that she has been in contact with Rich, from this site and there may be a conflict with the Susanna Rubaczky information. I hope to one day confirm one way or another.

As you may see from other messages, my grandmother was born in Zborov. My mother and I plan to visit in the future. I have no photos of anyone beyond my grandmother on my Slovakian side. Other surnames from the old country for us are listed below.

Hope it's not too late. Haven't checked back to this for some time, obviously.

No longer have computer access at home, so no alerts that you've responded. Without my notes here at work, I'm pretty sure that Zuzanna Rubaczky was my great great grandmother. Ever come across that first name?

My maternal grandmother was Veronica Dzubay (Dzubaj), born in Zborov around 1903 - came to America as a teen.

Thanks again for responding. If we are all correct in our research, then it would appear that we are 5th cousins - all sharing the same common ancestor Andrej Rubaczky (our great, great, great, great grandfather.

I'm pretty sure that the Susanna you mention from your research is mine.

I also have Ballents (Balent) from Zborov, interesting how one is recorded as a godparent.

Hi,
I am researching my Rubaczky ancestors in Zborov, Slovakia.
My ancestor, Maria Rubaczky (born 1844) married Emercius (Imrich) Geffert. They lived and died in Zborov.
Anna's parents were Andrej Rubaczky and Anna Cseluch.
I am willing to share my information.
