I am looking for information on
J. J. Salley and Ada ATKERSON SALLEY.
I believe they had three children:
Homa who married a HOOD,
Pauline who married a KILGORE,
and X. L. who lived in Louisiana.
They were from the Euporia, MS area.

Could J. J. Salley be Jimmy J. Salley born in 1871 in Mississippi

I was at Edgeworth Cemetery a couple weeks ago and took a picture of the tombstone of James J Salley and Ada Atkerson Salley. When I returned home, I noticed in my FTM file that he was listed as Jimmy J.
The dates on the tombstone matched exactly with the info I had on them, so I have updated my file to reflect the name change.

Where is the Edgeworth Cemetery located?

Edgeworth Baptist Church/Cemetery is east of Duck Hill, MS in Webster Co. On Edgeworth road off Alva road. Believe me, get a map if you are going there.

This has answered a question for me!
My grandfather, James Wister Mormon was double first cousin to Ada that married J.J. Salley. We never knew if Ada was a Mormon or Atkerson.
Do you live near this cemetery? I would like a picture of the headstones.
I plan to visit that area again, but the cousin that always took me to the cemeteries died.

I have a picture of the tombstone that I can scan and send to you. The gravesite is close to Duck Hill, MS in Edgeworth Cememtry. I live in Little Rock during the week but have a permenant home in Jackson, TN where the picture is kept with my other geneological stuff. I'll look for it.
