My name is Dr. Brian Johnson and I am an Associate Professor of English at Claflin University. My mother's grandmother is from Orangeburg, SC (my great-grandmother). She was born Minnie Salley (July 2, 1900) and had one sister. She moved and remarried several times finally settling in Durham North Carolina where she died Minnie Watkins. This is the only information that my mother has about our connection to the Salleys in Orangeburg. I've heard that there are several branches and would really like to connect with the branch to which I am related. Can anyone help? Thanks. bjohnson@claflin.edu

I am looking for the biological family of Myrtle Salley who grew up in Epworth Orphanage. She was born August 27, 1921 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Her birth mother says Viola Blount, but her surname at Epworth was Salley. She knows her mother was unmarried and had to give her up. She just would like to know more. She was never adopted due to a cleft palate probably.
