I live in Columbus, Ohio. My dad's name is Frank Sciacca; he was born in 1923. There's also another Frank Sciacca in town who may be related; he's about the same age. My dad's parents were from Sicily. His father was an orphan who had the look of the continent, but his mother, a native Sicilian, was very dark.

My grandfather Frank, was the son of Giupsepe Sciacca and Marianna Mavica both of Bronte Province, Catania Sicily.
There is quite possibly some Moor blood involved in anyone from Siclia in those days. The Moors took over Sicily for a short while.

I am not a member of the Sciacca family tree but was interested in your post regarding your father. Would he be the Frank Sciacca who was a Columbus policeman and later office manager at the city Building Regulations and the Columbus Workhouse? He was my boss at the last two and a dear man, friend, and mentor.

The reason I happened upon your post. . . I just filled a silver and crystal bud vase with two roses. The bud vase was given to me by my Frank Sciacca as a wedding gift. He attended the wedding with his ex wife (your mother?). It prompted me to look up the name.
