Geraldine (Gerri) A. Pietrowski Vomero, 71,
died Friday, June 6th, 2008, while on vacation visiting her sister in Palm Bay Florida. She was born in Erie, July 18, 1936, a daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Grygier) Pietrowski. She is survived by her former husband, Robert L. Vomero, whom she married August 31, 1957; four children, Lisa Vomero Inouye and her husband, Gary of San Diego, Calif., Roberta Vomero and her husband Steve Furry of Lake City, Pa.; Gerri’s only granddaughter, Michelle Vomero Welsh and her husband Charles; her only great grandson, Zachary Vomero Miller, Louis A. Vomero and his wife Michele of Erie and Fla. and their children, Christopher, Thomas and Matthew, and her youngest child, Renee Vomero of Fayetteville, N.C..; brother and sister, Frances Piotrowski of Palm Bay, Fla. and Frank Pietrowski and his wife, Cecile of Old Town Maine. Gerri attended St. Stanislaus Grade School and graduated from Villa Maria Academy in 1954. Following her graduation, she became a legal secretary to J. Leonard Ostrow, whom she worked 25 years. Following the death of Atty Ostrow, she worked for J. David Ungerman Esq., Louis A. Colussi and W. Charles Sacco. She retired in 1997. She was a founding member of the Legal Secretaries Association in the early 1960’s. She was active in the Polish Sharpshooters Ladies Auxiliary and served as an officer for 15 years. She enjoyed traveling, bowling and flowers. Friends may call at the A. Brugger &Sons Funeral Home, LLP, 845 East 38th St. Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a prayer service at 11:20 a.m. A funeral mass will be at 12:00 noon at St. Luke Church. Private burial in Calvary Cemetery.
