Jack is often used as a nickname for John- So you may want to look for JOhn Webb.

Do you have any records, dates & birth places? or are you just going by memory? You might want to try Kent & Canterbury areas?

What are your grandparents & G-grandparents names?

Bye for now

Have lots more information available now
Jack was born John Arthur Webb in Stafford round about about 1891, his parents were Charles Henry Webb and Annie webb nee Lea.
He had 2 brothers; Frederick Thomas Webb born 1889 and Frank Lenard Webb born around 1900.
Frank also moved to canada but later relocated to Chicago illinois after he had married.
Jank also had 4 sisters; Jane Elizabeth Webb (Plimmer) born around 1883 who stayed in England with Frederick.
There was also Henrietta Webb born around 1895, Minnie Webb born around 1893 and Rose Webb born around 1897.
These three were taken to Canada as home children in may 1902. We know that Rose went on to breed Samoyed dogs in Canada later on if anyone has any info let me know.
Thanks Ally

Hello, I believe 2 of the Webb sisters you mention, Henrietta and Minnie, are on the 1911 census for Ontario. At http://automatedgenealogy.com you can search to see a partial transcription and then connect to a link to see the original census page.

In searching, Henrietta is listed as Henrettia, age 16, born in England, and came to Canada in 1902. She is in Keene village, Peterborough East county, and listed as a boarder in household of an elderly widow.

Minnie Webb is in Toronto Centre, at 176 Jarvis St., listed as age 19, a Domestic in a boarding house, and in household with a number of boarders. She is also listed as born in England and as came to Canada in 1902.

Were the 3 sisters sent as Home Children by Dr. Barnardos, and if so, has their agency in England been able to give you any information? Where did you obtain the information that Rose bred Samoyed dogs? Do you have any information on when or where she was breeding them? Have you contacted the Samoyed Club of Canada to see if they have any information on her? Do you know if any of these 3 sisters married?

Diana Gendron mgendron@bconnex.net P.S. I am answering on the Webb message board, although I first saw your query on the General Canada board. The administrator of the General Canada board often removes queries that do not pertain to Canada broadly. So the administration there may ransfer your query to the Webb message board.
