We are descendents of Alfred Whiteford from Minnesota who married Margaret Day Cornish. Sound familiar to anyone?

I don't really know much about them, to be honest with you. Minnesota is about as far back as I am aware and I am near Buffalo New York. I only met one member of his family when I was younger and no one else from his family.

Hello. Have just looked at the 1901 census he is not on there (if he was born in England do you think he could have emigrated to the USA by then), There is an Alfred Whiteford b1895 Barton Regis which was a district of Bristol and that is where I live. Could this be your Alfred Whiteford. Julie

No, I am pretty sure he was born here. I honestly haven't spent any time on researching where that side of the family has come from. On my mother's side are Austins and Haskells who, I believe, were from Scotland and Wales. I will have to get more into this.

I'm doing research on the S.S. Olympic and just found a passenger list that includes Whiteford, Alfred. I'm wondering if this is the same Alfred and, if so, if any descendants happen to know if Alfred ever talked about the fact that he was on Olympic (New York to England) when the Titanic sank in April 1912.
