By chance do you have any information about an
Eliza Wiggin(s) b. 1794, probably in Maine; m. Lemuel Bryant in 1815? I do not know anything about her parents.

If you are interested, I can provide information about her descendants.

Thank you, Richard Larkin

Have a descendant tree for 13 generations since Thomas Wiggin (1596-1666) and his wife, Catharine Whiting (1601-1664). It includes the data that you were looking for in the posted message of 3 July 2000. Contact me if you would like, and would share any Wiggin ancestry that we/you have.

I realize this is an old posting...but thought I would reply anyway. I, too, knew Ernie Piper of Tuftonboro, NH. My dad worked for him in the Post Office/Store for years in Mirror Lake. Ernie Piper was a descendant of John Piper of Tuftonboro, a soldier in the Revolutionary war, who in turn was a descendant of the immigrant Nathaniel Piper. Interestingly, I too am a descendant of the same John Piper and, therefore, a distant cousin to Ernie. The surname WIGGINS does appear in the genealogy through marriage. Mercy WIGGINS to Thomas Piper. Eliza or Elizabeth WIGGINS through marriage to Gilman Piper, etc. Fun to see Ernie in the boards, he was quite a character.

Hello, In my family tree I have found the name of Abigail Church Wiggin born August 28, 1738 in Stratham, Rockingham, New Hampshire and died November 28, 1824 in Stratham, Rockingham, New Hampshire: daughter of Thomas Wiggin and Sarah Piper. She married Clement Davis who was born May 3, 1745 in Durham, Strafford, New Hampshire and died March 10, 1825. Abigail is his second wife. I can find no documentation concerning any children they may have had. It is documented that Clement was in the Revolutionay War. According to my informant Abigail is probably buried at the Old Davis Family Cemetery in Lee, Strafford, New Hampshire, which is located: Farm road between Lee Hill and Wadley's Falls, Lee NH 39 Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots, Vol. 1.
I also have this note: From the History of Stratham, New Hampshire by Charles M. Nelson: "...Abigail Wiggin, daughter of Captain Thomas Wiggin the 3rd, (in 1754) married Stephen Piper."
I am descended through Clement Davis by way of his son Samuel but can find no concrete evidence that he had a son Samuel. There is supposed to be a family Bible with names and dates but only the possessor of that Davis Bible knows where it is.
I have presented what I have on Abigail and hope it may fill in a few holes for you. I would hope that there may be some evidence of Clement and his children that you may be able to share with me.
Thank you
Dorothea (Davis) Blaha

Dorothea,
Thank you for your information. I have the data on the "Northeast Pipers" simply based on my speculation that my husband's Piper lineage is connected, with the connection yet to be proven.
As for ABIGAIL CHURCH WIGGINS, (1737-1824) her name and marriage to STEPHEN Piper (1733-1797), was found in "The Genealogy of the Piper Family," by Horace Piper, 1889, Washington D.C., pg 100, item 16.
As for the difference by one year of her year of birth. You will frequently note a double date for some, and a difference of the one year due to the change to the Gregorian Calendar. The American Colonies did not accept this change until 1752.
As far as I know, the particular ABIGAIL CHURCH WIGGINS m. to STEPHEN Piper, was the only marriage, and there were 12 Piper children.
Another WIGGINS researcher I once corresponded with is Bradley Sigler. The last email I had for him was bradsigler@mhcable.com He once had a website of his findings, but I do not know if he maintains one any more.
Due to multiple family problems, I rather dropped from the genealogical scene about a year ago, after 9 years of 8 hours a day doing what I love. Placing my family first, I removed my own databases and have kept low key for now.
Sorry I cannot help you with what you seek. There were more than one ABIGAIL WIGGINS individuals, and more than one ABIGAIL Church individuals. Several historical publications recorded that ABIGAIL Church WIGGINS m. Stephen Piper. I did not note one that cited a marriage to another individual. It may yet be out there.

Good luck.

Thank you for checking, Joy. However, my message regarding Abigail Church Wiggin was to help the poster Dorothy. I feel sure that she would appreciate a response to her message prior to mine so that she will receive notification about the response.

Thanks for being one to continue the spirit of genealogy by sharing!!
