Looking for information on Erkenbrack family. Great-grandfather's name was Everett Erkenbrack. He lived in upstate New York (Gloversville) and married Josephine Bartel who immigrated from Slovenia, Czech as a teenager. They had several children, one of whom was my grandmother Elizabeth.

I don't know anything about where Everett came from. He and Josephine had 5 children, but they were all girls. Their daughter,my grandmother, Elizabeth died in 1981. I believe others were named Mary, Rita, and Joan. I can't remember the fifth sister's name. Everett died in 1949 of a self inflicted gunshot wound. If you find out anything about the Erkenbracks in NY, please let me know. If I find out anything, I'll post it here.

There were two more sisters that Josephine & Everett had, one was Fran and the other one was Dorothy, my mother.
If you find out anything more about my grandparents or in your case your great grandparents, please let me know. My children are in the process of doing a family history for school.

Correction, Josephine was born in Slovenski, not Slovenia. Also, sorry I missed Dorothy and Fran. I wrote that reply from memory (which obviously isn't that good). Josephine Bartel was born 20 Sep 1893 and died Dec 1981. She immigrated through Ellis Island, but I can't find the record of it. I have no info on Everett.

Amy,

Not sure if you recieved my last message, so I posted it here...sorry

I'm doing well also, I've made it through college, I am now a Civil Engineer
and a Entrepreneur (www.carterco.cc). I've had a few superficial years.
I finally settled down a little, I bought a house in Salisbury, N.Y., Not married or
any children yet. After all this tragedy and current event's, I thought of you. I hope
everything is ok. What I need to know, is the real reason we went our seperate way.
Please be honest. If you ever want to write or chat, you know my contact. I have a yahoo ID also.
Bye for now :-)

Sincerely,
Bill Carter

Everett Erkenbrack did not commit suicide as I previously said. I confused him with another relative when I wrote that. I apologize for the screw up.
