I am researching the LANGNER family name. Theodore Langner married Bertha Rokitte, probably in Breslau, Germany, now known as Selesia. They came to America, either to Iowa or Minnesota.
one of their sons, Adolf Langner married Leah Schoenberger from Iowa. They moved to Minneapolis, and had 3 children. Robert, Mildred, Herbert Langner. These children were born in the Early 1900's. If you know of this family, please email me.

thank you

Debbie

I have part of the Breslau City Directory of about 1850 which includes the surname Langner. If you have names I can check against what I have. I'm working on a Wilhelm Langner b 1834 in Breslau to Gottfried and Elisabeth Langner.

the Langner family I am looking into is from Breslau also. The only name I have back that far is Theodore Langner, and he married Bertha Rokitte. Are these names in there?
Thank you, Debbie

I have no Theodore Langner known in the background for my family search. I do have the City Directory for Breslau for 1864 pages copied for the surname Langner. I checked that Directory and did not find any Theodore Langner. Do you have any dates for your family members in Breslau?

in your directory, do you happen to have a Charles Langner? He married an Augusta Klenott & they had a daughter named Bertha in 1867. I am unsure where he/ they were from... but it never hurts to ask *smile*. If so, please let me know... Thanks! -Dina (crazyred725@yahoo.com)

Wilhelm Langner is a great, great uncle of mine. He moved to Wisconsin and married Auguste Hegelgeb Nitschke in Brown County on November 11, 1874. They moved to Oconto, Wisconsin. His parents are listed as Gottfried and Elisabeth Langner. The town of birth matches yours. Please let me know if you have any more information about him or his parents. I am still researching him so I will post more info as I get it.

Thanks.

This is a long shot. I am searching for info on the Langner family too. Maybe a different branch. I can place Arthur Langner in Adams MA in 1912 - he had siblings, Earl, Mildred, and Raymond. Maybe we are connected somehow?

Any thoughts?

Debbie, At first I discounted that there might be a connection, but, maybe. My gf Frederich Rokitte was born
in Wurtemberg Germany February 21, 1876. He had two sisters (Mary & Emma) and one brother (Karl - he was a piano player). Karl Rokitte died in the 1950's in Dayton, OH. Karl Rokitte (according to my family) had one child and that was a daughter - she never came to America. My grandfather was upset with his brother because he would send money he earned to his daughter so he could buy her a villa there.
In checking the Ellis Island records for my grandfather it shows that he was going to America to see a cousin and the name looks like Langner in Dayton, OH. Frederich Rokitte was living in Rixdorf when he left for America in September 1907. While living in Rixdorf he worked for NCR Co. (as a tinner) in Berlin for four years. It is possible that Bertha Rokitte was a cousin of Frederich Rokitte. I have no idea what Frederich Rokitte's father's name was or if his father had any brothers. What do you think? Judy
