I HAVE RECENTLY BEGUN A SEARCH OF MY ANCESTRY, AND HAVE LITTLE INFORMATION TO GO ON. I KNOW THAT THE ODIERNO ( NEW YORK ) AND THE oDIERNA ( MASSACHUSETS ) FAMILY CAME FROM SARNO. I KNOW THAT MY GRANDFATHER FRANCESCO (FRANK ) ODIERNO'S PARENTS WERE ROSA( ROSINA ) SQUILLANTE AND GUISEPPE (JOSEPH)ODIERNO. THEY HAD 9 CHILDREN NAMED GIAVANNINA(JENNIE), FERDINANDO(FRED), ANGIE, OTHILIA, MICHAEL, SAVERIO(SAM), SABATSO(SAL), FRANCESCO, AND PHILOMENA. I ALSO KNOW THAT GUISEPPE RAN A SCRAP BUSINESS AND HAD A BROTHER NAMED FERDINANDO ALSO. IF ANY OF THESE NAMES RING ABELL WITH SOMEONE, OR IF YOU THINK YOU CAN HELP ME, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Hi... I read your message. I am married to Anthony Odierno of NY. His brothers are Vinnie, Ralph, and Donald. His sisters are Rita and Nettie. Their Father was Ralphel Odierno from Italy. I really don't know if this helps you, but thought I would let you know.

Hi Pamela, thanks for the reply. Im not sure where the family connection is, but there must be on somewhere since odierno is not a common name.
Could you tell me more about your father in law ralphael? Is he still alive? Who were his parents? When is his birthdate? I am trying to figure out if he is related to my grandfathers family. My grandfather is Francesco(frank) Odierno, and his parents were Guiseppe odierno and Rosa Squillante. They are from Sarno Italy, but I cannot find any information about them anywhere. I do not know when they were married but i can guesstimate that it was around 1905. They had 9 children ( ferdinando aka fred, giavannina aka jennie, angie, ottilia aka tillie, michael, saverio aka sam, francesco aka frank, sabatso aka sal, and philomena whom died as a small child.
I also know that guiseppe has a brother named ferdinando who was the father of dominic and several other children, but i do not know their names.
My information is so limited as far as the odierno family is concerned. If you can help in any way i would appreciate it greatly.
Thank you in advance for any information you may have and are willing to share. You can email me direct at cotich@aol.com if you would prefer. Thanks again and have a wonderful day.

Dear Phyllis,

I will do my best in trying to find out anything I can. My husband is away, on business, until Saturday. I will ask him what he actually knows regarding his family tree. I don't know his Grandparents names, however, I will ask him.
Take care and chat to you soon..........Pam

Hi there! I have also just started some research
on the Odierno name. My father's name is Paul Odierno.
His father's name was Alfred Odierno who was married
to Sophia Pizzuira. Some of the names you mentioned
sound familiar. My mother did a lot of research
on the name so I will check through that and see if
any thing matches!

Classification: Lookup
Surnames: Odierno, Labriola
My husband, Ralph Lombardi;s grandparents were Ernesto Odierno & Antoinette Labriola. Ernesto came over from Sarno, Italy, on 6/14/1907. He was 18 yrs. at that time. The name of the ship was the Konigin Luise, which sailed from Naples, Campania, Italy.
His brother Quinzio Odierno had arrived from Sarno, on 5/19/1905, his age at that time was 19 yrs.
This information was found on the Ellis Isl. site.
We do not know who their parents were - but as they were from the same town as your people. There is a very good possibility they are connected in some way.
Ernesto & Antoinette had 3 children: Theresa, Louis, & Laura.
Theresa was my husband's mother.
If you have any info on these Odierno's - I would be happy to hear from you.

Gloria,
I am limited to my information on the whole family and sure there is a connection but have not been spending much time on the research lately. I dont know much more than my previous posts have mentioned but will look into the ellis island site you mention and If I find a connection, I will let you know. Thank you so much for the information.
Sincerely,
Phyllis Cotich
