Info I have strongly suggests Simister as an early spelling; however, Seamster is the spelling I have in all references to Joshua David. I have a connection but am not sure of relationship. My paternal grandfather was Cabell Jackson Seamster (m. Mary Alice Perkins) both of Halifax, Virginia. I am trying to establish his relationship with John Seamster who came over from England/Scotland in 1690 on the Queen Anne, disembarked in Louisiana, migrated to the Henrico County area, then to Essex County. Do you have info on Cabell Jackson? My records stop at the birth of a Cabell/Cabbel in 1841. That is too early for him to have been my grandfather.
