I have recently started tracing my family line and have learned that there was a Jacob Troxell in the family. The information that I have indicates that he was born in 1759 and died in 1842 in Alabama. If you have another other information please write me at the following e-mail address: rmcalester@texoma.net. Any information that you have would greatly be appreciated.
Sincerely,

Hi Rebecca, In response to a message on the genealogy bulletin board. I too have traced the Troxell name all the way back to Bern, Switzerland in the early 1500s. In my papers, I show a Jacob Troxell born circa 1758 and married to Anna Margaret Eberhard, on Aug. 10, 1786. This was in Egypt, Pa. at the Jordon Reformed Church. They had four sons and three daughters.

I have this Jacob Troxell in my files. I don't have very much about Jacob. May we exchange information?

Hi again Teresa, Here is some of what I have on the Troxell history.
The first known recordof the name Trachsel was reported to be found in the records in Bern , Switzerland. Those records dated the year 1367, listed the name Burckhard Trachsel and he was a councillor in Bern. Over the years the name evolved from Trachsel to the present spelling of Troxell. In Switzerland there is a small town and a forest region, both named Trachselwald. It was in this area that the establishment of the Troxell family line began in the Lenk Reformed Church of Semmental, Berne Canton, Switzerland. Info on the first time the name Jakob appeared was in 1562. Send a response if you want more sent to you.
Sincerely Bob T.

Terry:
I just read your message of 12/9/99.
I'm looking for the "father" of the Jacob
Troxell (born about 1774) who married
Susan Glass. I thought it was Abraham
who married Marie Rohrer (Montgomery
County, Ohio) but I was mistaken.
