I may have something for you, but the birth dates don't match up. My great grandmother's name was Augusta Pealish-Wrobbel. She married John Wrobbel and gave birth to a son, John Wrobbel who had 9 children (my father and his siblings). I don't know if my grandfather had sibling or not.

The entire family lived in Detroit (in the german area at first) from the turn of the century onward.

We must have a connection here somehow.

Hi Nancy

As far as I know Aunt Gussie had never married before marrying Uncle Art. Wrobbel was her maiden name. But they did live in the German area of Detroit around the turn of the century with their families. So it would seem that Wrobbel name may have been connected. I have not found any siblings for her as I see you have not found any sibling for your John. Maybe they are related as siblings. What is the birthday date of your John and do you know his parents?

I am sure there is a connection somewhere.

Let me know
Rosanne

Hello! I have some Wrobbel in my family tree, but they lived in the former city of Danzig (now Gdansk, in Poland). Is there a possible connection? Please let me know.
Best Regards, Werner

There is a branch of this Wrobbel family who elected to live in the Buffalo, NY area. I'm one of their descendents. I ran into one of the Detroit descendents in Kansas City in a record store in the 1980's. We suspected we were related because we resembled each other, but were unaware of the Detroit/Buffalo connection at the time. Such a shame.

I believe that the Wrobbels Nancy and I are related to came from Gdansk. I have information on the ship that Carl Gustav & his wife Augusta (nee Kelvinske/Klivinske/etc.- several spellings found) came over on with some of their children. So yes, there is a good possibility there.

I'm new here and just getting the hang of things. When I have my footing, I'll check back to see if there've been any replies.
