Hello,
I found your posting, so I thought I would give you a little info I have. My husband Jim is the great grandson of Annie Gillies and Maximillian Parker. Annie Gillies is the daughter of Robert Gillies and Jane Sinclair. Annie and Max were the parents of William Moroni Parker who would be my husbands grandfather, and he married Mary Jane Lamb. I do not know if this helps at all, but I can tell you that my husband is definitely related to the Gillies. So I guess John Gillies and Christian Gibb would be his Gr Great grandparents. This ancestry stuff is so interesting! You know my husbands mom had kids up until kind of late in her life, so he is only 34. It would seem that he would be so far back in this line, but he is really right smack in the middle of what you are referring to! I also have an interesting tid bit for you. Maximillian Parker who married Annie Gillies is the brother of Robert Leroy Parker, AKA Butch Cassidy! Butch would be my husbands great Uncle! How wierd is that? LOL Anyway, I better quit talkin your ear off. I just thought that I would drop you a line! Bye for now, Allie

Another connection: my g grandfather Daniel Sinclair GILLIES

Howdy cuz! I'm Butch Cassidy's (Robert Leroy Parker's) third cousin once removed. My great-grandmother Ada Parker's brother Maximillian married Annie Gillies and one of their children became that rather notorious outlaw. In reply to your post I must say that your husband's relation to Butch is much better than you think. Your husband's grandfather, William Moroni Parker, was Butch Cassidy's brother! Butch Cassidy is your husband's grand-uncle!! Yeeehaww!!! I've heard that many in Butch's close family were kind of ashamed of his bad behaviour, them being upstanding church going folks and all. That would explain your husband not knowing the full story.
