There is a George E. Wake in the 1840 census in Barren Co., KY, pg. 177, ID#KYS4a2685495.
There is also a George Wake in the 1850 KY census in Fayette Co., ID#KY46935968, pg. 703. There was a George, son of Johnston Wake b.1757 in Middlesex Co., VA, but I don't think he lived to be an adult. Happy hunting SW

I suppose you've already run down the 87 George Wakes that LDS lists...24 of them are from England. SW

In response to K. Wake's postings, I am very interested in your information. My Grandfather was named John Wake. His Grandfather was named John Wake and all lived in various small towns in Yorkshire. My GGGGrandfather John Wake was born circa 1798, married Harriett Townend in 1824 or 1826. John (b.1798) and Harriett had six children, who they named John, Rueben, Thomas, Harriett, Elizabeth, and Mary. Based on those given names, I am betting they came from previous ancestors. Am very interested in what you have, and can be reached at JRWake1316@aol.com, or at jrwake@feist.com. I have had a rough time getting my E-mail to print on this message board. Otherwise, will watch for additional postings. Rod Wake in Wichita, Kansas
