looking for any info on this family. they were married in 1871 and had 3 children that I can confirm, ada, flora and Sidney(my great grandfather)..... andy information is appreciated.

Rhoda A. Odle (b. 11 Jan 1852, d. 27 Mar 1886) and Robert C. Thomas (b. 11 Aug 1845, d. 3 Sept 1885) were married 18 Jan 1872. Rhoda was the daughter of Richard Odle born 1816 in North Carolina, probably Rockingham County, died 1892 in Benton County, TN and Lucretia Dove Tippett, born 1816 also probably Rockingham County, NC, died 1888 Benton County, TN. They are buried in a cemetery on the old Morris Place near Sugar Tree, TN. Rhoda and Robert died young of typhoid fever and the children were raised by Rhoda's sister, Sarah Odle (1847-1924) who never married.

I'm curious. Does anybody know if this ODLE family had kin in Jackson/Clay Co TN? My ancestors are John ODLE, born in 1818 in TN, and Mary Elizabeth CARTER born about 1812 in SC or TN. Their daughter Rachel, born 1846 in Jackson Co TN, and very old Levin SAVAGE, born Surry Co NC 1789, are my gg-grandparents. Rachel Odle and Levin Savage had 3 children born in Clay Co TN in the late 1800s.

Julie, it is my personal opinion that all the Odle/Odell/O'Dell/Odil, etc. families are kin. That said, I don't know how the ones in Jackson Co, TN are kin to the ones in Decatur Co, TN. But the "old ancestor" in both groups is a Jeremiah Odle.
