I'm researching both Bright Skipper, Baptist preacher, from North Carolina, lived in Coweta Co.,Georgia, married Nancy peoples there, moved to Coosa and Elmore Counties, Alabama, then moved and died in Texas. He had a sister named Edith "Ada" Skipper, born N.C., married William Bryant Smith ni Coweta County, Georgia, moved to Tallapoosa County, AL., after death of husband, married Daniel M. Harris. Would love to share what I have.

Mary, please contact me at bagpiper@bellsouth.net
I hope so, as my Skipper connection has been one of my hardest families to connect to. Email me and we can go from there. Curious on the Henry name. I had been looking for the possible or probable father of Bright and Edith, and Henry kept popping up.

I have just began the journey of tracing my family tree and just wondered if you are speaking of the same Henry Skipper. My great-great-great grandfather was Henry Skipper. His wife died while her children were very young. His daughter Mary Estelle married my great great grandfather Alfred Pierson Ramsey. Anything you might have would bew great. My email address is vonski@flash.net.

Thanks.

I have a Charity Skipper in the 1830 Brunswick, NC census. There are 2 males: under 5 and 5-10 and 4 females: 5-10, 20-30, 30-40 and 60-70.

Do you have any idea who this could be?

Charity Skipper (g-g-grandmother) married G.W. Brinsfield in Coweta Co, GA on November 30, 1836. We believe that she was born around 1805-1810? Her children were not sure weather she was born in NC, like G.W. Brinsfield, or in Georgia? I have a picture of her and her mother with G.W. after they were married and she and her mother both look to be native american. Any NC Skipper's marry a native american woman?

Also, these are the other Skipper's that I could find that married in Coweta Co, GA.:

SKIPPER HESSY SMITH SENDELL 29-Oct 1828
SKIPPER JOHN ADAMS JUDY 5-May 1832
SKIPPER HENRY HILL CATHERINE 4-Dec 1833
SKIPPER CHARLOTTE BOYET HARDY 15-Oct 1835
SKIPPER ELI COTTON RACHAEL 30-Jul 1836
SKIPPER CHARITY BRINSFIELD GEORGE 30-Nov 1836
SKIPPER EDA SMITH WILLIAM B 25-Jul 1837
SKIPPER BEIGHT PEOPLES ARTHUR 23-Jul 1848
SKIPPER HENRY HORSLEY SARAH E 18-Dec 1856

Are all these Skipper's related, they must be, but how?

Any help would be appreciated,
