I am looking for ANY information from any point in time for the RAIRIE family of DuBois, PA and the locally surrounding areas.

Even the smallest info will help as I'm piecing together the family history of my in-laws and I have very little to go on and NO working knowledge of the area or family.

My name is Rich Rairigh. I've been doing research on the Rairigh family and have tracked my branch of the tree back to 1741 when our ancestors came into the country. Many of the Rairigh ancestors lived not to far from DuBois in Grant township. If you have the time and interest, I would be interested in sharing family ancestry, old pictures, etc.

My name is Richard C. Rairigh (Have two sons; Richard S. and Joshua C)
My Father is Richard A. Rairigh (He lives in Palm Harbor, Florida)
His Father was Richard M. Rairigh
His Father was Richard B. Rairigh
His Father was William K. Rairigh
His Father was William Rairigh
His Father was John Rairigh
His Father was Nicklaus Rohrig who arrived aboard the Ship Francis & Elizabeth on 9/21/1741.

Let me know. If you have a family member or relative who has collected pictures, family history, etc., I would also be interested in corresponding with them.

A very distant cousin :)

It's wonderful to hear from you! I will be seeing my mother-in-law in a few weeks (after schools let out for the summer). Rairie is her maiden name and I will gather any info I can from her at that time.

His father was William Knisley Rairigh.
His father was William Rairigh
Then to John and Nicklaus Rohrig.
I still live near the Dubois area and try to visit the old Slate Hill cemetary where many of te original Rairighs are buried. It was the site of the old Dunkard Church that Williams family started. Many of the headstones are still readable. If your over this way I could show you or send pictures if you like.

It's great to connect and hear from a distant cousin. I've been hoping to get up to see the area and take pictures of the family plots at Slate Hill. I believe there is also a stream in the area with the name "Rairigh." I would love to get some of your pics (here is my direct E-mail - I'll return the favor by sending you some of the pics I have collected down the other tree branch. If I'm able to get up into the area I will drop you a line. Blessing and best regards, Rich

I don't know it it would help or even if it's the right clan but There are a few Rairigh's in the northwest. (Oregon and Washington) I know verry little about the family history but my dad told me that at some point there was a spat and that the family split. Some of them even started spelling the name different. Anyway all I know is that there was a Robert Rairigh in Oregon when my dad was born. That was in the late 40's. I really don't know much before that. I know that it's much later than what you were looking for but it might give you another line to trace back. I could ask my dad if he remembers anything about his grandpa/great grandpa if you think it would help.

As far as I know, all of my ancestors were in Pennsylvania after migrating from Germany.
