Obtaining a birth ceritificate from 1858

Surnames: Wiedman
Does anyone know how I might obtain a birth certificate for my gr-grandfather, Henry M. Wiedman, born in 1858?
According to his d.c. he was born in Boston. My sister-in-law looked up records at the Wash. D.C, D.A.R. records for Boston and he wasn't listed.
Should I check with anyone who has access to NEHGS?
Thank you.
Also, what county is LaWRENCE,.MA in?

Hi Becky,
There is a marriage record for a Henry Weidman and Mary Regan, Feb. 8, 1881, age 23 for both. It states that Henry was born in Boston and Mary was born in Boston. His parents are Henry & Emily, her parents are Edward and Sarah. The marriage is listed in Boston and Worcester. No birth listed on the NEHGS site. You could contact the MA Archives at Columbia Point for a record of the birth for $3

Becky,
Their address is 220 Morrissey Boulevard, Boston, MA 02125.

Give them as much information as you can, city, date, parents names. I takes anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks.

Good Luck!
Carol

Thank you, Carol. I just found out from my sister-in-law who is also researching the Wiedman line, that Henry M was born in 1857 rather than 1858.

Hi Becky,
I still didn't see the birth record on NEHGS. If you send to the archives, they will still check 5 years around that date if you still need a copy.
