Hi!
I have been researching the Dacre/Daker surname for a very long time. Just saw your message & thought you might be related to Harry Daker who is my uncle. He also lives in Carlos. It is a very small town & you have the same last name, so thought you might be related to him.
Hopefully, we have the same line & are related. I have gotten back to 1730's in Yorkshire. I also have a 1612 Will that was written by a William Dacre of Spofforth, Yorkshire. Have not connected them yet - but being they were from the same village & area, there is a good chance they were.
Hoping to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Jean

Hi

I see from your thread that you mention a Daker being in Stockton on Forest. I live in York and have today begun looking at my partner's family tree for the first time. Can you tell me if you have any Dakers from Wiggington, York in your tree? My partner's 2xGreat Grandfather was born there and on the 1881 census has a boarder also of the surname Daker born Stockton on Forest. Is there a link??

Regards
Emma

Even though I have not connected Wm. Dacre/Daker of Wetherby to my John Dacre of Spofforth, I do have a descendant list of Wm.'s if anyone would like to see it.
Wm. Dacre marr. Mary Robshaw in 1776. There are many descendants listed up to 1971.
There are many who emigrated to New Zealand.
