If your Henry Pickerell was married to Rebecca Lowe, I have information on the ancestors and descendants of these two families. They had at least 8 sons: Walter, Thomas, Solomon, William, James, John, Richard and Basdell. I am descended from Thomas who came to KY in 1830-40.

Hi; yes that is the couple. We only had 6 children; we did not have richard or basdel. What source did you find? I am descended from Solomon of this couple. Please email me and we can share info.
thanks

In 1992, I began corresponding with William Henry "Billy" Pickeral of Lynchburg, VA. He had been researching the family for many years and asked me to take his research and organize it into a book. I added my research of the family of Thomas who came to KY. Billy had info from a lot of different people. There are about 10pp. about your Solomon which seems to have been collected by Violet Berry Christensen who got it from Col John J. Leeper. Are these names familiar?
I got some info on LDS microfilm by Ann Arnold, a book by Clayton Pickrel and various other sources. My aunt and I visited Pittsylvania Co.VA in 1990 and copied marriage applications at the courthouse. If you might be interested in the book, let me know. The book has 247pp. and is priced at $25, postage included. I'm really not trying to sell you a book. It's just that there is so much in it that I couldn't possibly give it to you by e-mail. By the way, I stated in the book that it appeared that Henry and Rebecca had either 6, 8, or 10 children! There are so many conflicting stories regarding my Thomas, that I'm not real sure what happened! If this letter hasn't completely confused you, let me hear from you again! Sincerely, Pansy Allison

Thanks for your offer; right now; funds do not allow me any purchases. I will keep your name tho. I do have the Clayton (Pickerel Chronicles) that are not very well documented; the Samuel Pickerill story by Ora Scott 1930 that we are both related to also. Glad to know that it just isn't me finding all the conflicting info. Good luck- if youre interested in some Pickrel resarchers give me an email and we call all discuss our similar problems.

I am looking for the ancestors of Matilda Pickrell who married Noah Harl and had a dau. Mary Ann Harl. Matilda Pickrell was born in KY and her father was Henry Pickrell or Hillary Pickrell. I have found 2 Henry Pickrell on the IGI at LDS-FHL, but can't tie either one to Matilda. One Henry Pickrell is said to have married an Achsah Paxson 31 Oct 1798 in <Chestnut Creek>, Grayson, VA and the other (or same?) one is said to have married a Sarah Gilkerson on 9 Oct 1799, in Fleming, KY. Can anyone help?

I have some information on Henry and Rebecca Lowe! I live in Pittsylvania County, Va. I recently went to the courthouse to research my family history. I have had some confusion with Henry and Rebecca Pickrel too. I started out with 5 children and now I have 6. I don't know if they are all theirs or maybe mixed up. I have also found out that the Pickrell's liked to pass down first names too. So it can be really confusing when you find a name and try to link it with everyone. Anyone interested came just post a message and I will give you the information. I have gone back as far as 1590.
Happy Hunting!
Nicole

Is your book still available? I would be interested.
My research is Robert PICKREL, b. Va. in 1823.
