PLEASE READ FIRST!!!
This is a large database I have started of identified old photographs dating from the 1850's to the 1950's. There are over 400 id'd photos I have databased in alphabetical order already. I have been busy saving listings from online auctions and antique stores. I've tried to find the ones with enough information to be clear for the researcher. I have also posted as much genealogy information I could find to include with the photo. I can provide a copy of the image and might be able to track down the actual photo if possible. If you are certain and SURE that there is an ancestor's photo or image you would like me to find for you, please contact me at Bronsch@integrity.com.
DO NOT reply to the posting. I have so many postings already that I don't have time to check them all the time.
The info you see below is listed in this order:

NAME-(name written on the photo or album) I've listed the last name first.

LOCATION photographed-(if it says unknown, there is no location noted)

DATE-(Date noted on photo or a guessed date by myself or dealer)

GENEALOGY Info-(All info I could find from dealer or written on photo)

NUMBER-(condition of image that I saved to my computer, not the condition of actual photo) I use a scale of 1-10. I being the least clear image to 10 being the highest. I am picky when it comes to clarity, so I have never listed an image as a "10."

GOOD LUCK browsing! Hopefully I can reunite some photos with family! I cannot guarantee that photo can be tracking. It may have been sold or the dealer may not want to sell it.

Sincerely,
Bill Bronsch

Gridley, H. J. Rock Island, IL Oct 12, 1863 or 66 I recently purchased several lots of old CDV's, cabinet cards, tintypes and ambrotypes. I will be listing them over the next few days and am happy to combine items to save on shipping expenses.
This auction is for a wonderful old ambrotype of a young gentleman who is identified inside the case. The handwriting is a bit difficult to read but I make it out as H. J. Gridley, Oct, 12, 1866 (could be 1863), Rock Island Ill. I tried to research this young man and came up with a possibility that fits the name and location. I do not know for a certainty that this young man is in fact Horace Jared Gridley, but based on census searches, family genealogy forums, etc., this was the only possible match I was able to find.
