Hi! I'm researching my grandmother's family tree - the Sartor family. They originated from a small town in northern Italy called Fiume Veneto. It's now in the province of Pordenone, but the borders have chaned several times and once was part of Udine, and at another time part of Treviso.
Any connections out there?
Paola

Hello, I don't think we're related. As far as I know, the Sartors lived in the provincia of Pordenone (previously Udine) from many years ago.

Hi Franco,

There is an Umberto Sartor (b ~1888) on the manifest for the ship Europa which arrived at Ellis Island in 1907. He's listed as from Cavaso, headed for Hanford, CA. I recognized the name because he is listed just above my Mora relatives, also from Cavaso.

You can see it by going here: http://www.ellisisland.org

type in "hinberto sartor" (they misread his first name)

hi, I am also trying to trace my grandfathers family from near Udine in NW Italy. My grandfather was FIORE ANGELO SARTOR who was born in Aug 1902. He had 1 sister & 4 brothers born between 1895- 1912. Their parents both died in 1941, we think the fathers name was LUIGI. I don't know too much but wonder if you may know. Thanks, Gill

Hi,

Do you have any information about the other children, specifically the Antonio and Ermenio (My Nonna's name was Erminia - not sure if this was a spelling mistake - she was born in 1930 in the Cavaso region)

Her siblings im aware of was Antonio (5 children im led to believe) Giusapina (2 children) and Gianna (2 children) - most migrated to Canada

Looking forward to hearing back from you

Jason
