I have spent the last year trying to contact any Doby's in Camden SC. Is there anyone out there completing a family tree in the are of Camden. I have researched and found that this is where my family orginated from. My grea great grandfather Emmanual Doby was a slave. WHen slavery was abolished he moved to Alachua Florida, my home where he has a great big family. Can anyone help me bridge the gaps.

We are planning this reunion because we, want EVERYONE to come and have a good time in celebrating our heritage. The plan is to have the reunion in Orangeburg,Sc or Claradon counties. In my research,I found that some family members have posted many negative things about the Quattlebaums. I heard these things every since I was a little girl. I can say this,if not for our ancesters in our family tree would not be here today. Our ancestors left their homeland for good reasons, it call survival. please let me know if any of this information can be helpful. We would like to have a speaker from each side of the Doby,Quattlebaums, so our children and grand children and their children wil know the truth about our families. We are large, from the U.S. to Germany to Africa. Our roots are rich in Cherokee,German, Carrbieans and Africa. My mother grew up in Turbeville,Sc. As I said before, Look in these above mention areas. I am living in California,plan to return to Carolinas. The Doby and Quattlebaums, are also living in New Jersey, Washington,DC, New York,Philadelphia. Fla.

Good news, just spoke to my cousins in Claradon County.The Quattlebaum-Doby is schedule to take place in August 2007 at Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Turbeville,S.C. We are trying to find my gg-mothers relatives. She was a Doby,married Rev. Frank Quattlebaum.

There is a family connection here on The Doby family. I will be placing a notice in the newspaper (Claradon Today) informing all Doby's of this reunion.You and you family welcome to attend
