Sorry , I do not speak Portugeses and I hope you
can understand English ? My mothers maiden name
was Nascimento. Her father ( my grandfather )
Antone Nascimento was from Corvo Island ,
Azores . He married Lucile ( Golden ) Nascimento
in Walla Walla , Washington ( USA ) . He came to
the U.S. around 1900 ( at 16 ) through New York to a place
called Starbuck ( I'm not sure what state it is in ? )
where they farmed until he went to work for Union
Pacific Railroad in 1910 until he retiired in 1940 . He
died in 1945 in Walla Walla , Wa. at the age of 59 ..
He had a brother Nick who also came from Corvo ,
who farmed in Starbuck for 40-50 years and died
in Dayton at the age of 70 . . He never married .
Other possible related people to us might be
Mabel Saramago , Stanily Nascimento of Vallejo ,
California , Marvin Nascimento of Walla Walla ,
Jean ( Nascimento ) McLeod of Oregon , Manuel
Saragamo of Starbuck , Joe Saragamo of Los
Banos , California and Natalie ( Nascimento ) Bond
of Tacoma , Washington. Keep in mind most of
these people are no longer living and relitives
have probably relocated in other parts of the country.
I hope this is of help to you or anyone else out there
Feel free to e-mail me . Thanks , BRUCE BOND

Hello,

I am from Portugal and there are a few Ogandos around here. As far as I know the name Ogando is originary from Spain - Basque country (Guipuzcoa/San Sebastian), so you are are right this is not a Spanish name. Besides that i dont know much more.
I think all the Ogandos around the world emigrate from that part of Spain many years ago.
I know that in Argentina they are a few, as well as in Chile and Usa and Brasil.
I also have an information that in the Dominican Republic there are this historic personalities as follows
I hope this helps your question.
I also enclose information about a famous Portuguese writer " Alice Ogando"

I just thought you might want to know that the name Nascimento was not really a name. It means Born. It is on all birth certificates from Portugal. Like, my Name is Nobriga so it reads de Nobrega do Nascimento (born Nobriga). Some people for some reason dropped the orig. name and got the name Nascimento. I would look on birth certifacates as far back as I could if I were you to find your real last name.

Dear Sir, I am Joseph Saramago's daughter. I read your posting. I knew of the three Nascimento brothers that had settled in Walla Walla, they were my fathers uncles, and they were born in Corvo, Island in the Azores. They have all past, as well as my father and all of his siblings. I believe that one of the Nascimento brothers not one of the three that you mentioned moved to Chili. I remember meeting uncle Nick when I was very young. My family had driven to Walla Walla for a visit. I knew Mabel who was my aunt because she married my uncle manuel Saramago after her first husband Manuel Nascimento pasted. She had two sons, Stanley and Marvin Nascimento with her first husband Manuel Nascimento. They have all also passed. I know that you posted this a few years past. I just recently ran across this posting.
