I'm looking for info on the marriage of John Shoptaw and Rebecca Garrett.
My records also show her name as Alretta, but I think this is incorrect.
John is from Kentucky, and Rebecca I believe is from Ohio, but they lived
in Linton, Greene County, Indiana.
Any info that might help me straighten this mess out would be appreciated.

I am searching for James Shoptaw and Catherine of Kentucky. They had a Daughter Mary 22 Jun 1827 and Mary married Jonah Warrener Tucker 1 Jan 1846 in Russellville, Pope Arkansas

I believe we have a match. I have an Alvaretta Garrett who was born in Ohio about 1860. Her family was in Greene Co., IN, in 1880. There is a marriage for John W. Shoptaw to Bettie Garrett in Greene Co. on 23 Feb 1881. John and Rettie Shoptaw are on the 1900 census in Stockton, Greene Co., IN.
