HELLO RUBY, I'M NEW TO THIS, JUST HAPPENED TO STUMBLE ON THIS GENEOLOGY STUFF. I DON'T HAVE A WHOLE LOT OF INFORMATION, BUT MY GRANDFATHER,MARION VINDIOLA, WAS FROM ARIZONA, TUCSON I BELIEVE, BUT NOT SURE, AND MY GRANDMOTHER, MARY VINDIOLA WAS FROM THE LOS ANGELES AREA, CHINO I THINK, LIKE I SAID, I JUST STUMBLED ON THIS SO I DON'T HAVE ANY RESEARCHED INFO. MARION VINDIOLA WAS BORN IN 1893, HAD BROTHERS, PEDRO AND JUAN THAT I CAN REMEMBER. ALL ARE DECEASED. TO THROW A MONKEY WRENCH IN THE POT MY GGGRANDFATHER SPOKE A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE OTHER THAN SPANISH. MY GRANDMOTHER USE TO SAY THAT IT WAS ITALIAN AND MY GGGRANDFATHER HAD TO SPEAK SPANISH CAUSE ARIZONA WAS PART OF MEXICO AT THE TIME. PRETTY CONFUSING HUH... EVERYONE MARRIED INTO THE MEXICAN HERITAGE, THUS, SPANISH BECAME THE OFFICIAL VINDIOLA LANGUAGE. WELL GET BACK TO ME AND I'LL FIND OUT MORE ABOUT US. CHUCK

THANK-YOU CHARLES FOR THE REPLY, I TOO STUMBLED ON THIS SITE. I HAVE ALSO GONE INTO OTHER SITES THAT HAVE BEEN HELPFUL, BUT THIS IS MY FAVORITE.
YOUR MY 1ST REPLY AND I APPRECIATE IT. AS FOR YOUR HISTORY OF YOUR NAME, IT'S HELPFUL AS IT TELLS ME THAT IM COMMING TO THE CONCULSION
THAT THE VINDIOLA NAME SEEMS TO BE MOSTLY BUNCHED UP IN ONE AREA OR ANOTHER.
IN MY RESERCH I HAVE FOUND THAT ALOT OF VINDIOLAS'S WERE IN THE SAME AREA OF SONORA MEXICO AND THEN IN ARIZONA, THEN IN CALIFORNIA. MY GRANDPARENTS "MANUEL AND ROMONA VINDIOLA LIVED IN THE COCHISE COUNTY OF ARIZONA IN THE LATE 1800'S AND EARLY 1920'S IN A SMALL MINING TOWN OF DOS CABASAS
IT IS STILL THERE TODAY.THEY MIGRATED TO CALIFORNIA IN THE MID 1920'S IN CUCAMONGA,CA.
ACTUALLY NOT FAR FROM CHINO.
AN INTERESTING FACT I FOUND WHILE SERCHING IS THAT IN DOS CABASAS THERE ARE SOME UNMARKED GRAVES OF VINDIOL(S)AND PACHECO(S)THIS BEING VERIFIED BY A MAN OF THAT TOWN
REMEMBERING THE PEOPLE OF THAT TOWN. I ALSO HAD SOME RELETIVES IN TUCSON.
THE LANGUAGE FACT IS VERY INTERESTING AS MANY PEOPLE OFTEN MISTAKE THE VINDIOLA NAME AS ITALIAN.
I WILL ALSO TRY TO GET SOME MORE INFO AND I WILL SHARE IT WITH YOU AND YOU DO THE SAME . I HOPE I HELPED AND LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR REPLY.... SINCERLY RUBY VINDIOLA NAVARRO

Hi,

It seems everyone on this board is on the same mission, to find our roots (Familia).
Somehow, I get the feeling some of us are related. I'm from Calif the centro valley, where the Vindiola name is not very common, The Vindiola's here are all familia. My grandpa is Jesus Martinez Vindiola,
he is a Strong,Proud,Honest (91 years old) man with a good heart, just don't get him mad or else you'll see The Vindiola Temper! He was born in Arizona (1910) to Jesus and Teresa (Martinez) Vindiola and has 8 brothers and 2 sisters, I should say 3, because one died as a child. All of my tios and tias live in Arizona except for my Tio Ramon (the oldest who came to calif when he was a young man along with my Grandpa). I have alot of family living in Arizona (Tuscon,Oracle,Mammoth,Winklemen,Wilcox,
safford,Benson,Arivaipa) these are just a few places my grandpa has mentioned when he tells me his stories. (History) my advice to you younger Vindiola's is to spend some time with your Grandparents or the Elders of your family and ask them about their life... They have alot of information, and interesting stories to tell you, that can be passed on to future generations. There's alot more I could say about My Family, but this is not the time or place. I'm trying to find more
information on my Great-Grandfather JESUS
VINDIOLA who was born in arizona or maybe Sonora, Mexico and his father Librado Vindiola (my great-great grandfather). This
is all the information I have so far. If you have any other info I would appreciate your help. Who knows we might be family!
I wish you well in your search, God Bless!

Charles:

We are probably of the same Vindiolas. My father is the son of Pedro Vindiola who was your grandfathers (Marion's) brother. My dad, Rafael Vindiola, indicates Mary Vindiola your grandmother was from La Puente, CA. Our great grandfather was also named Pedro and he always used Pedro B. Vindiola to pay homage to the Bojorquez side of the family. Pedro B. Vindiola was from Tuscon. Who is your father? My dad remembers that your father had 2 or 3 sons and two girls and they lived La Puente, CA also.

As a child, my father, who would be cousin to your dad, lived in LA-Watts. Pedro Vindiola (Marion's brother) lived and died in his house in Los Angeles (on Miramonte near Slauson).

Anyways, about 10 years ago I started a family tree using PC software, i still have the hardcopy and can provide some more info if you like.

You should try using other search engines on the web and type in Vindiola. Try Google.com and search Vindiola. My family is in the city of Redlands, CA. About 30miles east of Chino and Ontario.
