Can you tell me who James children were? I am looking specifically for Thomas Thelston, who was probably born around the turn of the century. James is a name that has popped up in my generation and the previous one, so...? Also, who James married? Thanks

I'm sorry but that is all the information I have on Joseph Childers' children. I haven't really researched them. Do you know if he lived in Bledsoe Co., TN or did he move?

I don't know about Tennessee. What I have heard says the family came out of Virginia. That was from my mother, who heard it from her father-in-law, who didn't talk about his family much because they had disowned his father when he married an Indian.

My Joseph Childers was born in NC in the year 1820 and died in Bledsoe CO., TN. He moved to TN about 1839-1840 where he had George Washington, Andrew Jackson, Rebecca, Nancy, and Sarah. One son, George, moved to KY for a little while. Probably not the same family.

My great grandfather was George W Childress whose bd is 3/30/1848. He was married 3 times. 1st to Virginia (Ginnie) Estes after her death he married her twin Tennessee Estes. They divorced. His 3rd wife was Sarah Cantrell. She was my great grandmother. They are buried in DeKalb County. No one in my family knew much about GW. We wondered where he had come from. Your info on Joseph sheds a little light.
