I posted a message yesterday to your answer to my query on the Cunningham family of Lancaster co. County , Pa.from Ireland abt. 1715. I am interested in any data on the various Samuel cunninghams that you mentioned. In early Lancaster co. there were a Samuel, a william, and a James, no doubt brothers or close kin. Which branch of the Cunninghams do you spring from? I have a whole book which I got from the author quite some ttimeago, not of my line, and much more material on other lines. hi...i am searching for my cunningham family...they are currently living in ayrshire in scotland but i have traced them back to northern ireland...county down...newtownards...circa 1861 james cunningham married mary gordon in newtownards..they had a son robert in 1866 in ballyblack newtownards and then they appear in ayrshire in 1871 census..and i can trace them from there...but i am looking to find out more about their families in ireland

Sheila, I am sorry to say that Imy Cunninghams came to the colonies about 1715 to the vicinity of what is Harrisburg, Pa. and were in the township of Paxtang. I am descended from wither samuel or James by way of Hugh cunningham who was born there in 1741. He m. Agnes Tuckerin Paxtang Presbyterian church. Afterthe amer. rev. in which Hugh served, they migrated down into what is the panhandle of W. Va. there is a lovely site on computer re. theur house which they purchased there,.

James, Thomas, John, Patrick and John Cunningham throughout our family history--reported migrated to US from Ayrshire per rootsweb.com a few years ago. Can no longer locate. family settled in Indiana--at least four generations here.
