David!
What wonderful information you must have! I, too, descend from an Asturian branch of the
del Valle family. I have documents only as far back as Cuba, specifically a marriage confirmation from San Francisco Javier de Marianao church dated 1872. It confirms the marriage of Ramon
del Valle Vega, a natural of
Collera province
Oviedo, legitimate son of Ramon
del Valle and
Isabel de la Vega. Ramon married Juana
Garcia Guerra, natural of the City of la
Palma, capital of the Island of the same name, natural daughter of
Josefa Garcia Guerra. I can then follow my family to
Florida, specifically
Tampa, where my father was born. I am very much interested in any information you have on Ramon's branch of the family. I, too, have a copy of the same coat of arms; and have just recently found out that the copy I have was painted by a femal del Valle's husband from Spain. The painting is of the original cast in stone in the family castle in Spain. I am still trying to learn more informaiton on this. Additionally, I have a copy of a very, very old book of another
del Valle branch with documents signed by the King of Spain dating back 300 years. It contains the
Vega coat of arms also, and another derivation of the
Valle coat of arms. Let's swap information, okay? Please contact me! Susan
