After 10+ years of use I can say I could easily find things 10 years ago, 5 years ago & 3 years ago. It's only with their "improvements" that information has gone missing.

It's useless and detrimental "improvements" and trees they spend their time on.

PLUS

"Enjoy an unprecedented value from Ancestry.com
Benefit from a membership that keeps growing in value as new US records and images are added to Ancestry.com every week. Share what you learn with your family and friends."
[copied from their site today - Aug 9, 2009]

This is what they've always said and it's what they aren't and haven't been doing for so long that renewing is useless.

THIS BEARS REPEATING

"IF YOU CANNOT FIND THE INFORMATION, THEN ALL THE CRAP THEY'RE BOGGING DOWN THE SITE WITH IS JUST THAT - CRAP!"

I just wish they would stop messing around with different ways of getting to the information that's already on the site and start fixing the stuff that they've left half-completed.

I mean we've had two or three interface changes since I became a member - none of which I ever wanted or needed. Meanwhile I've been waiting in vain for new content that I could use, or improvements to the half-arsed features that they've left unfinished for the past year.

Plus they could do well by adding a few USEFUL documents rather than the sort of garbage they've been adding recently. I mean surely there's better stuff they could buy with my money than obscure German textbooks. It's ludicrous.

UGH!!!! I cannot find anything I need...it takes me 20 minutes or longer to figure how to use my Family Tree...

The census records images won't load...all I get is the Index...the "Report a Problem" won't load...

This "new" look is driving me crazy...I didn't pay a subscription fee for all this frustration....I saw nothing wrong with the "old" format...at least it worked much better than this CRAP I have been trying to use for the past three weeks.

I think that Ancestry has lost me as a customer....if you want my money at renewal time

ANCESTRY ~ GET YOU PRIORITIES STRAIGHT!!!!! THIS SUCKS!!!!

Hey I agree, Ancestry.com is not a company, not one they want you to kno about (altho they are a for profit organization by now I'm sure, they started off as Family.com and are of the Latter Day Saints, ie; Mormons.
Duh, they would be the ones to keep a family tree to keep up w/whose the mother of which child, the father would be the same.

I have no idea where you got the idea that Ancestry.com "are of the Latter Day Saints, ie. Mormons".

That is, quite simply, *not* the case.

For the record...ancestry was originally Ancestry and then Ancestry.com ... then the company name was changed to MyFamily.com and later The Generations Network. The company has now come full circle and is Ancestry.com again. At the present time, they are a privately held company with report that they may soon be going IPO and becoming publicly traded on NASDAQ.

The company is not connected (as others have already told you) with the LDS Church nor has it ever been--although many past and present staff, owners, and managers are LDS Church members.
