I'm trying to find out how to check certificates of death of this date for females, between 40-50 years of age.

Surname is not know, so I will need to search via the date of death. How is this done, please.

In the search engine you can enter an age and then define it within a certain number of years. That way you can search for someone between 40--50 years. Also just put in their death date within a certain range and you should be able to find some results.

You can go to the ssdi(social security death index) and do an advances search. Do you know where this person was born? If you have a first name and a date of death you will get pages but you can search by that. There is also a site called obituary times daily that can search by a maiden name also.
