Joan,
I'm the Kathy that had the problem viewing the obit from the Houston Chronicle.
I did contact Customer Support. I furnished them with the URL for every page I went to in the process. They replied with instructions on how to do a Search.
I also tried to post the message at this board. It contained 3 URLs. For some reason my message couldn't be posted. I posted a message without the URLs and I message asking why my message with the URLs was blocked. I also contected Ancestry Support about this and they told me the Administrator was responsible. I posted a message to Julie about this (Julie Weiss is the Administrator) and didn't get a reply.
The main search engine for the obituaries is a joke. A computer searches the pages from the newspapers that contain obituaries. It then determines what on the page goes into each field. If there are ads or anything else on that page it can be picked up. That's why there are 13 Obituary listings for Little League. For all 8 deceased that those obituaries represent a researcher will not find the obituary unless they know the date and what newspaper the obituary was in. I posted a message about this but there was no reply. Yesterday I saw where the name for the first obituary on the page was used as the deceased's name for all obituaries on that page. This lady's name is repeated several times with different vitals. The computer picked her name up for everyone on the page but picked up the correct vital for each one.
Mostly I search the actual Texas newspaper on a regular basis for new obituaries and bypass the Obituary Collection.
