Anyone use the leather bound albums to print up your family trees? I can believe there are no references to this in a topic. This thread is suspiciously empty. Anyone??

I havent used it yet alas. This is a fairly new topic so might be one reason not alot have posted yet. Most that use probably post in the Press Blog which for me is hard to find answers in alas

I plan to get a few books, but the main one I want right now comes up to 264 pages, so I either have to wait until they expand the limit again, or figure out how to split the book in half. It would be nice if the online editor gave you that option.

Well let us know if you publish one. I'm really interested in what to expect from the quality for such a low price.

I'm not sure about the quality of their books, but I ordered posters 12/23/08 choosing the option of 2nd day Expedited Shipping (this costs more but I had family in town and I was truly hoping to give them as gifts while they were here). Even with MyCanvas' minimum 5 day processing period for posters (minus weekends and the two holidays) my first package won't be delivered until 1/6/09! I should have had it on Friday, 1/2/09. I had to make 2 calls to Ancestry Customer Service line. Each time they told me that I would get an email when it shipped. Well, I finally did receive an email on 12/31 saying it "shipped" (UPS). So, I logged into the UPS website and for over 60 hours, all it said for the status was "Billing Information Received". They didn't even have the actual contents yet - only the electronic billing information for the pick-up. I'm going to ask for a credit for "their version of expedited shipping". Now, as a result, I will never order anything through them again. Buyer beware - don't order anything with the intent to get it when they say it will be delivered. Ancestry's shipping procedures leave MUCH to be desired.

If UPS did not provide the two-day shipping that you paid extra for, then you should be complaining to UPS, since that is the vendor that Ancestry used for the expedited shipping. I believe that UPS' definition of "two-day" is different than what you expected. If the notification to UPS on 31 Dec 2008 that the book was ready for shipping was received by UPS after the UPS driver had already made his pickup that day at the production facility, then the next day that he would have made a pickup would have been on 2 January, a Friday. Weekends are not included in UPS' delivery estimates, so the first day after the order was picked up would have been Monday, 5 Jan and the 2nd day would have been Tuesday, 6 Jan, which was the day on which you said you did get delivery. Sounds to me like you got exactly what you paid for -- both from Ancestry and from UPS.

UPS website did not update that it received the actual packages until 1/5. That tells me Ancestry didn't give them physically to UPS until Monday, 1/5.
The initial order was sent on 12/23 to Ancestry. With 2 holidays and 4 weekend days, Ancestry was still 2 days late getting it to UPS for delivery. It should have been here on 1/2. And UPS does deliver on Saturdays.

UPS can deliver on Saturdays, but will do so only if an extra fee is paid. Their two-day delivery service does not count weekends into their delivery timeline, as is shown in the link I included in my previous post.

Anyway, as I understand it, Ancestry's offer of expedited shipping only means just that expedited SHIPPING. Not expedited handling of any of the previous steps, such as printing or order processing.

Ancestry press may not be open or printing on a Sat. Thus there would be no pick up. Used to work for fedex ground and if the factory/office was closed there was no pick up
