The book Cattle Annie and Little Britches by Robert Ward mentions Bittercreek Newcomb. I don't know how accurate it is but it is a fun book about the Dalton gang.

By chance would u know where George was born or who his father was- also natanality was. I was told we had a Bittercreek Newcomb in are family that rode with the Daltons and James boys. We also had family in Shawnee, OK
McCalip (that were related to the Newcomb family in IL- I have confirmation James Newcomb from Richview, IL traded horese will all of them in the late 1870"s- after the civil war
