Obituary: Boone County (Iowa) Democrat, 11/06/1913: "FIBAKER ~ Enos Fibaker, an aged and highly esteemed resident of Dodge township, passed away at his home there last Saturday, November 1st. Mr. Fibaker was born in Bohemia, March 24, 1839, and was in his seventy-fifth year at the time of his death. He came to this country in 1852 and soon afterwards located in Boone county and has been among the best known and esteemed pioneer residents. In 1860 he was united in marriage with Miss Anna Benesh and to them were born twelve children, eight of whom are left to mourn his death, three sons, Frank, Joseph and John, and five daughters, Mrs. Anna Fredrick, Mrs. Mary Varek, Mrs. Emma Slama, Mrs. Tena Krug and Mrs. Nellie Krug. He is also survived by thirty-three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Mineral Ridge at 2:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Howard of Pilot Mound. The funeral cortege is said to have been one of the largest ever seen in the county, being more than a mile in length, and the profuse and beautiful floral tributes attested the general esteem in which the deceased was held. The pallbearers were: Pat Sullivan, Lou Hein, Ira Shaler, Joe Briggs, James Kuchynka and John Lyons. The remains were laid to rest in the Mineral Ridge cemetery." NOTE: The children were said to have been born in Cedar Rapids, Linn and/or Johnson Counties, &/or Boone County, Iowa. My own great-grandparents were Frank & Mary Fibikar Warak.
