Am seeking information concerning my paternal great grand parents.
Name: George MARFICA -- immigrated with his second wife, Eva (Ewa) (RODAK possibly) in about 1885 from Europe.
George had three children by his first wife (Kate DWORAK??). The children were Anna, Charles, and Antonia). George and Eva had two more children (Julia and Mary) before immigrating. After arriving in America (port of entry and date unknown), they settled in Columbus (Platte County), Nebraska. Three more children (Frank (sometimes listed as MARFICIE), Rose (later married a SHELTON), and John), including my grandfather (John) were born in Nebraska. In varying sources their homeland was Austria, Austro-Hungarian Empire, Poland, Polish regions of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
George MARFICA died shortly after my grandfather (John MARFICE) was born in Dec 1892. Eva remarried a man named Charles CHIOCHON. They moved to Holt County, near Ewing and had 4 or 5 more children. I located them in the 1900 census for Holt County, Deloit Township, but none of Evas other children are listed. By 1900, the older girls (Julia MARFICA (later married Bartley STANIEC) and Mary MARFICA (later married John STANEK)) were living/working in Columbus. The three younger children were not listed on the census.
In the early 1900s Eva left Charles and moved to Omaha, living with her daughter, Mary, who married John STANEK. Eva lived there until her death in November of 1936.
Would appreciate any contacts! Thank you
