My understanding is that Primitive Baptists did not (do not) believe in infant baptism, as they believed the child needed to be able to fully understand the experience. A person could only become a true member of a Primitive Baptist church through an experience that indicated he/she had received God's grace. So a child, while he might be taken to church, would not become a full member of the church until that happened.
